Edinburgh pupil in school balcony fall

A high school pupil has fallen 15 feet from a balcony at a school in Edinburgh. The unnamed girl, 15, fell from the internal balcony at Gracemount High School in the city on Friday morning. She is is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening. The school remained open on Friday and council chiefs said investigations are continuing. A City of Edinburgh Council spokeswoman said: "There was an accident at Gracemount High School this morning which unfortunately resulted in a female pupil being injured. "Emergency services attended and she has been taken to hospital for treatment. The school remains open and pupils will leave at the normal time. "We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident."
