About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Inspector to support inspection, auditing, and verification of gas systems across a range of commercial environments.

This is a field-based role involving inspections of plant rooms, energy centres, and commercial heating systems. You will play a key role in ensuring safety, compliance, and performance across installations, maintenance activities, and remedial works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) inspections within plant rooms and energy centres
  • Inspect and verify post-installation and post-remedial works
  • Investigate issues relating to commercial and district heating systems
  • Support the development of mechanical specifications
  • Assist with data capture for feasibility studies and net zero roadmapping
  • Gather and maintain asset data for plant rooms and energy centres
  • Ensure all inspections meet current gas safety and compliance standards

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial gas
  • Strong working knowledge of both domestic and commercial gas systems

Required Domestic Gas Qualifications

  • CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
  • CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
  • CKR1 – Cookers
  • HTR1 – Gas Fires and Wall Heaters
  • MET1 – Domestic Gas Meters
  • CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis

Required Commercial Gas Qualifications

  • CODNCO1 – Changeover Domestic to Commercial
  • COCN1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety
  • CIGA1 – Indirect Fired Heating Appliances
  • CDGA1 – Direct Fired Heating Appliances
  • CORT1 – Radiant Tube Heaters
  • ICPN1 – Commercial Pipework Installation
  • TPCP1 / TPCP1A – Testing and Purging (Low and Medium Pressure)
  • CEMW1 – Commercial Gas Meters
  • COCATA1 – Catering Appliances

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong technical expertise across commercial gas systems
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Analytical approach to system investigations and problem-solving

Work Location

Primarily field-based, with travel to commercial sites as required and remote working for administrative duties.
