Really proud to attend Drapers Mills Primary Academy in Margate as both Chairman of Cliftonville Hockey Club and a sponsor of the Community Outreach project, which brings sporting opportunities to school children who may not otherwise have access to the experience.
The project seeks to provide children with access to Hockey as an activity and social experience to help them develop into well-rounded young adults. The belief of both this school and the club and sponsors is that children benefit hugely from involvement in activities alongside the classroom and at a time where school budgets face unprecedented pressure community organisations like Cliftonville HC, celebrating their 100th year, and Clear Safety can support these initiatives where schools may not be able to provide the experience themselves.
CHC, with help from Clear Safety, have now provided coaching to over 200 children in more than 15 schools. In its second year, the programme is expanding, adding additional coaches and with more schools requesting the sessions. The ambition is to regularly provide sessions to over 20 schools and provide regular tournaments for the children to play in.
As both Stuart and I are avid Hockey players, it is such a privilege to be part of this initiative and we are looking forward to continuing to work with CHC bring such a fantastic sport to children in Thanet.
