Clear Safety is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Buckingham as our new Heat Networks Compliance Manager.

CIBSE CP1 Heat Networks ConsultantMIGEM, and active member of the IGEM Housing Partners Forum, Chris Buckingham brings deep technical expertise and policy insight to our clients, supporting them through one of the most significant regulatory shifts in the heat networks sector.

As the UK started its move toward full implementation of the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) in January 2026, with formal Ofgem enforcement, housing providers and local authorities must prepare for:

  • Mandatory compliance with the DSNES framework
  • Higher technical standards under CIBSE CP1
  • Greater scrutiny of fire, gas, and building safety interactions
  • The need for robust net zero planning in communal and district heating

At Clear Safety, we’re at the forefront of this transition — helping clients navigate these requirements with clarity, confidence, and long-term strategic planning.

Our services include:

  • Comprehensive heat network risk assessments
  • Practical net zero road mapping for legacy housing stock
  • Compliance solutions that balance regulation, safety, and resident well-being

Congratulations again to Chris on the well-earned new title. We're proud to have him leading this critical area of work at a time when the stakes for safety, sustainability, and accountability have never been higher.

If your organisation operates heat networks and wants to ensure you're ready for 2026, we’re here to help.
